Our Journey
LBEX began with one truck and one mission: to make fresh, healthy food more accessible. We saw the challenges many communities faced — food going to waste because it couldn’t be transported quickly enough, families living in areas without consistent access to fresh produce, and businesses struggling to find carriers they could trust.

From that vision, LBEX was born. What started as a one-truck operation has grown into a purpose-driven refrigerated trucking partner for farmers, distributors, and businesses. Every mile we drive connects growers to families, producers to markets, and healthy food to the tables that need it most.

Locksley and Ruth began shaping the idea for a company that could merge expertise in transportation with a mission to improve food access.
2023
First Truck on the Road
LBEX officially launched operations, starting with one refrigerated truck and a focus on serving local farms and distributors, by building meaningful relationships with major brokerages.

Expanding Partnerships
Built strong relationships with brokers connected to growers, wholesalers, and community distributors — proving LBEX as a reliable partner in moving fresh products.

Locksley Brown
Director of Transportation
Transportation runs deep in Locksley’s story. Growing up in Jamaica, he watched his father oversee import and export operations through Customs. That early exposure to the flow of goods across borders sparked an understanding of how vital reliable transport is to communities and economies. With years of experience in the transportation industry, Locksley brings both expertise and a natural dedication to keeping products moving safely and efficiently.
Ruth Jocelyn-Brown
Director of Operations
As a retired middle school teacher in underprivileged neighborhoods, Ruth saw firsthand how inconsistent access to fresh and healthy food affects children’s learning, behavior, and mental development. Her passion for equity and social justice drives the operational backbone of LBEX. Ruth brings her educator’s heart and advocate’s voice into the company — ensuring every decision ties back to the bigger mission: connecting communities with healthier possibilities.
